MEMBERSHIP
Art Space Portsmouth offers membership to both studio holders and non-studio holders. All members pay a monthly membership fee and are required to sign a 'Membership Agreement' with Art Space Portsmouth.
You do not need to be a member of Art Space Portsmouth to be on the studio waiting list. However, you still need to follow the application procedure outlined below. This ensures that when a studio becomes available you will automatically be able to become a member of the organisation.
APPLICATION FOR STUDIO SPACE
If you are interested in applying for a studio, please contact the Art Space Portsmouth Studio Coordinator for further information and an application form.
Please note there is no average waiting time for a studio - it can take anything from a few months to a few years depending on availability and your requirements.
Selection
Applications for studio membership are viewed at our artists' meetings. The key selection criterion is whether an applicant is currently actively engaged in his/her own creative visual practice.
Sub-letting or sharing your space
Studio holders may sub-let their studio to another member of Art Space Portsmouth, for example while away on a residency or taking a career break. This would normally be between six months and a year unless otherwise agreed. All sub-lets must be discussed with the Studio Coordinator and agreed with the Board of Trustees.
APPLICATION FOR NON-STUDIO MEMBERSHIP
If you are interested in applying for non-studio membership, please contact the ASP Studio Coordinator for further information and an application form.
Selection
Applications for non-studio membership are viewed at our artists' meetings. The key selection criterion is whether an applicant is currently actively engaged in his/her own creative visual practice.
