Art Space has renamed its education programme as Art Space Projects in order to reflect the changes that are taking place in the organisation and in the way artists choose to facilitate activities. Though life classes are going to continue to be provided by Art Space at different venues, other initiatives will be solely project based and facilited by us. Some individual member artists have to date successfully initiated and led their own projects for which they have received recognition and funding from Portsmouth Council of Community Service - Small Sparks Fund, Community Chest grant from PATCH, the Heritage Lottery, Grants for the Arts and the Arts Plus Award from Arts Council England, and the Lottery's Awards for All. With over 42 professional artists in the organisation, who bring with them a diverse body of skills, experience and expertise, Art Space is able to provide a unique resource for the city and in the South East. We are increasingly working in partnership with other stakeholders and are committed to creativity and cultural engagement through socially engaged initiatives and activities. Art Space also welcomes all enquiries relating to the commission and contract of our members for activities by external agencies. Some examples of what we do are as follows:
