Art Space - Braziers Artist 2005

In the summer of 2005, after spending 2 weeks at Braziers International Workshop I was chosen to go on a one-month residency to Art Space, Portsmouth. I was given an incredible studio to work in with great light and lots of wall space. It was an amazing opportunity for me to continue the work I had begun at Braziers. With four weeks to devote to painting I was able to make a large, complex piece multi-panel painting, which I showed at the open studio.

The people I met at Art space were all open, enthusiastic and welcoming. Jan Williams and Chris Teasdale, who I stayed with during my residency, were amazingly generous and supportive and our friendship continues. The whole experience at Art Space was rewarding and productive and also gave me the chance to reconnect with artist friends and colleagues from the past .I enjoyed being part of the community there and still feel connected to it
