SPRING TERM ADVANCED LIFE DRAWING CLASSES

Time: 7 - 9 pm (Monday)
TEN-WEEK COURSE
Cost: £115 full fee / £95 concessions (only 5 concessions available), the fee for each term must be paid in advance.
Maximum number of students: 12. Please note places are booked on a first-come-first-served basis.
SPRING term: 15th April - 1st July 2013
(excluding Monday 6th May - BANK HOLIDAY and Monday 27th May - HALF TERM)
Outline: The course is for advanced students who have some prior knowledge of life drawing and would like the opportunity to take part in a structured series of drawing workshops designed to be supportive, challenging and tailored to the specific needs of the participants. Whilst, in theory, this is an advanced class Chris is happy to teach complete beginners providing they are up for a challenge and keen to extend their visual repertoire. Students may range from beginners to practicing artists and designers - some of whom may not have done any life drawing for a number of years and might like to refresh or update their skills. It is also a perfect course for those on Foundation courses who wish to build up their portfolios prior to applying for degree courses.
Each session is structured to provide an opportunity to produce a portfolio of lively creative drawings. The programme is designed to build confidence and broaden horizons.
Directions: The advanced life drawing classes are held in the art department of Portsmouth Grammar School. Proceed through the main entrance in the High Street, then turn right - facing you to the right is "N" BLOCK. The Art Department is on the top floor. Turn right when you get to the top of the stairs and you will find us! Don't worry - if you get lost ask a marshal, who can be found in the office just inside the main gate.
Parking: There is plenty of parking off-road in the school car park - access via Museum Road. The entrance has a security code to open the electronic gates. Once you have booked please let us know if you require the code.
Materials: You must provide your own materials, for example, drawing equipment including willow charcoal, putty rubber, soft pencils, craft knife and or pencil sharpener, sketchbook, 3 or 4 sheets of A1 paper, masking tape or board clips.

Art Space is one of the most respected artist run studio groups in the UK and we have been offering studio space and Adult Education classes in fine art for 30 years.
Please note this class takes place on the second floor of the Grammar School. Currently there is no lift or wheelchair access. Art Space Portsmouth is currently looking to make this class more widely accessible in the future.
