6by4 12th - 14th November 2010 FUNDRAISING EXHIBITION & SALE OF ORIGINAL, ANONYMOUS POSTCARD-SIZED ARTWORKS Gallery on Flickr at: http://www.flickr.com/groups/6by4/ Follow: http://twitter.com/artspacepompey for updates |
Art Space Portsmouth is a charitable organisation providing much needed support for artists in the region. 28 of our 45 members rent studio space in a converted chapel and the group makes a significant cultural contribution to the city and beyond through exhibitions, workshops and public art projects.
Art Space Portsmouth founded Aspex gallery - now an independent organisation - in 1981 and played a vital role in the early careers of such art world luminaries as Richard Wilson, Helen Chadwick, Mona Hatoum and Cornelia Parker.
To celebrate our 30th Anniversary Art Space is hosting '6by4', a secret postcard exhibition in GASP (Gallery Art Space Portsmouth) we're asking artists, designers, musicians, TV personalities - in fact anyone we can think of - to donate an original postcard- sized artwork to create an exhibition full of delicious surprises. The artists' identity will remain a secret until the point of purchase
This is a great opportunity for emerging talent to be shown alongside established artists and media superstars, and for art lovers and collectors to purchase a hidden gem at the very reasonable flat rate of £20.
All proceeds will help support future Art Space projects and initiatives
