	Commissions since 1999	2005 Commissioned to create an artwork or temporary installation for the Forest of Dean as part of the six month digital fellowship in the forest. 2003 Culvert Commission in Bacup. Commissioned by CITE Commissions in the Environment to undertake the role of lead artist for the consultation, design and fabrication of an artwork in Lancashire; to work with Council engineers, Borough engineers, architects and members of the community to come up with a creative solution for the culverted River Irwell in Bacup town centre. This involved a long lead in period of community consultations and networking, resulting in dialogue and strategic co-operation between various government and enterprise agencies seeking to regenerate the town. 2003 Westonbirt International Festival of Gardens, Westonbirt Arboretum. Commissioned by Forestry Commission to create a site specific art work for the Arboretum. 2003 The New 'Queen Victoria' Cunarder Cruise liner. Commissioned by Elstone & Haze Associates to undertake the fabrication of an art work for the new Cunarder in 2004, representing the best of British contemporary art. 2001 East Lothian Council Headquarters, Haddington. Commissioned by IPA Independent Public Arts ltd. to undertake the fabrication and installation of an art work to be sited at the John Muir Building, Haddington. 2000 City and West End: Victoria Street SW1. Short listed to undertake, in the initial design of a Public Art Commission, in conjunction with the Architects MacCormac, Jamieson & Prichard, on a prominent site at the intersection of Victoria St. and Artillery Row, London. 2000 Newcastle International Airport. Short listed to undertake, in the initial design of a Public Art Glass Commission, in conjunction with the National Glass Center in Sunderland and Commissions North, at Newcastle Airport: International Terminal.

	Residencies & Fellowships	2005 A six month digital fellowship in the Forest of Dean, in partnership with the University of Gloucestershire 2003 A two week residency in Bacup, Lancashire, to undertake community consultations in Backup and Stackstead; guided history walks; historical and archival research in Bacup and at Preston Records Office. 2000 A one month residency in San Antonio, USA, for 'Fotoseptiembre 2000', to work with a digital Giclee Printer to produce a series of temporary site specific installations at the International Centre. 1998 Durham Cathedral Artist in Residence, for a duration of twelve months.

STATEMENT

I am a visual artist with a cross disciplinary approach to my practice; the photographic and the drawn processes are pivotal to this. I work with diverse materials to create wall and floor mounted constructions and installations. These artworks have been created for exhibitions, national and international photographic biennials, public art commissions and purchased for private collections. My current work embraces digital video and a historic photographic process known as Carbon Photography, I produce 'light' imagery that are dependent on the intensity and modulating qualities of sunlight. By using glass, transparent films and water as a filter and reflector, and using the process of drawing with photography and video to trace, edit and document those qualities; I am producing what are essentially modulated and still drawings that have been derived by the action of light al
