Public Spaces Residency – Felipe Castelblanco

We are pleased to welcome renowned international artist Felipe Castelblanco to Art Space Portsmouth who will be working with us as Artist in Residence on our ‘Public Spaces’ residency which is part of Art Space’s ‘Unfold’ project. The residency will focus on on exploring the use of local public spaces.

Felipe will be working with the over sixties in the neighbouring Somerstown area, out of which he will create a public art installation. This will be done through a series of workshops to which he will invite various academics to liaise on the project.

A symposium, which will be open to all, will be held toward the latter part of Felipe’s time at Art Space in which himself and guest speakers will discuss the outcome of the residency and associated issues on the the use of public spaces within the communtiy. A celebration event will also be held to mark the end of the residency.
