I describe myself as an "Artist/Beachcomber". I live near Stokes Bay, Gosport, and visit the beach most days. Using found items along the shoreline has enabled me to make jewellery, assemblages, combines and prints. My found items are free and I do my "tiny" bit to help towards the environment and the pollution along the shoreline
As a mature student I studied Fine Art at the University of Portsmouth. I work from a studio attached to my house. I continue to read and research and experiment with printmaking techniques. A mono print has been included in a exhibition organised by the St Ives School of Painting - the venue being "The Sloop Inn".
I am inspired by the St Ives School of Painters and the abstraction found in the galleries around this town. Favourites being Peter Lanyon, Breon O'Casey and the abstract paintings, sculpture and ceramics found in the Penwith Gallery.
I have been a member of Art Space since leaving University and continue to exhibit with Omega Printmakers, Portsmouth.
