My making includes collage, print and installation. Often materials such as cloth, thread and twigs find their way into my pieces as I find their inherent textural qualities so attractive.

Art making for me is a means of investigating and expressing aspects of life, be that specific themes or something much more internal and instinctive. Engaging with others in the making and sharing of the work is important too.  My intention is to create evocative pieces that offer an opportunity for reflection and refreshment and that somehow connect with the viewer.

I contribute to exhibitions, have completed a number of commissions, enjoy initiating and curating arts events and exhibitions. When the possibility arises, I love to work collaboratively, especially in cross-disciplinary projects.

Studying sculpture, I graduated from Duncan of Jordanstone College of Art, Dundee.  I have benefitted greatly from Artist in Residence positions in both an inner-city context in London for several years and within a deaf community in a remote area of Bolivia for one year.

I have been a member of Art Space Portsmouth since 2013.
