Tracey McEachran

About me
I am a multi-media artist working with analogue photography, film, sound and installations. My practice sits within the genre of portraiture, still life and myths, employing constructed sets and existing backdrops to reveal contradictions in the human experience and my work explores tension between group and individual identity.

As an artist photographer I have been working with polaroid lifts, I also work in large format photography, film and installations. My works central theme is of the human experience through a feminine lens. Exploring myths, archetypes and patterns of behaviour. I continue to explore subject matters of controlling, collecting, displaying and projecting in a never-ending quest to contain the uncontainable, to control the uncontrollable, to belong whilst also holding on to a sense of uniqueness.

My story
I began showing as a fine artist whilst completing a BA (Hons) in photography at the University of Portsmouth. After completing the BA I went on to achieve an MA in Photography at The London College of Communication, graduating in June 2013.  Alongside my fine art practice I work as a facilitator of creative programmes for a range of clients. I am also a regular speaker.

Commercially I have worked with a range of clients from the public and private sector. My work has been used in various campaigns, the largest of which was a breastfeeding campaign led by The Portsmouth Health Trust.
