I am a textile sculptor working with reclaimed fabrics and haberdashery to create animal-inspired sculptures that exist between the familiar and the imagined. My work is shaped by an enduring fascination with the animals we share our world with, and the ways our lives are intertwined. These relationships are expressed through storytelling, symbolism, companionship and dependence, and marked by both care and control.

I am drawn to textiles that carry signs of use and life. Worn cloth and softened surfaces hold quiet histories, which become embedded within the work and echo the closeness and complexity of human and animal relationships. This sensitivity to material informs my practice, guided by a desire to hold the layered traces of lived experience, where stories of care, labour and dependence sit within the fabric, reflecting parallels between ourselves and our animal counterparts.

Each sculpture develops through an intuitive approach to making, the interplay of stitch and material choices shapes the emergence of character as part of the process. Stitch is both a structural and expressive part of my practice, used to build, adjust and respond to the developing form. The work carries a sense of spirit, holding space for interpretation.
