The recipent of the 2009 Sponsored Studio Award was Lisa Traxler:
Lisa's Sponsored Studio Residency culminated with her exhibition "Studio 22" at GASP. During the six-month period Lisa immersed herself in the place and space - researching and using the history and life of the building as a starting point. The ideas and issues that emerged touched on memory, familiarity and emotions of past, place and time.

Lisa is a professional artist who lives and works on the Isle of Wight. She holds a BA (Hons) Degree in fashion and textiles her work combines painting, photography and collage; incorporating layering, stitching and texture with acrylic and mixed media.
She has exhibited widely in the UK with recent work at The Mall Galleries, London; a solo show at Portsmouth Cathedral, 2008 after a three month residency at Portsmouth Grammar School; an award for her work exhibited at the NAPA Exhibition, Obsidian Gallery in Buckinghamshire during 2008. A further solo show at The Eldon Gallery, University of Portsmouth in 2009. Group shows in 2009 include Women's Work Exhibition, Hampshire, Farnham Maltings, Surrey and a joint show with sculptor artist Matthew Chambers at Seaview Arts, Isle of Wight during the summer of 2009.
