An exhibition of new experimental textile works by Amanda Berridge with photographic works by Patti Gaal-Holmes and ceramics by Amy Standing.
This exhibition explores transformational and unpredictable processes, whether through applying heat, iron, acid, tannin to old bed sheets, experimental chemistry in the darkroom, or the magic of firing clay.
The medieval practice of alchemy experimented with base materials hoping to transmute matter into gold – we use experimental processes to create unexpected marks and surfaces which evoke memories and images, transforming base materials into something precious.
