LIFE AND CAREER

His work explores two traditional themes, MARITIME painting and the HUMAN form. His maritime work follows the "pier head" tradition of ship portraiture, whilst his true love is the open sea. He is a classic boat enthusiast and is currently restoring a Deben 4 Tonner.

A highly skilled creative draughtsman, observational drawing and traditional craft skills are the corner stones of his practice. He has a reputation for meticulous research and highly detailed work. Primarily a painter, Wood developed a passion for printmaking at art college and produces limited editions of hand pulled lino cuts and wood engravings.
Wood exhibits in the UK and is a regular contributor to solo and group exhibitions
He accepts commissions from international collectors of maritime naval engagements and or contemporary yachting.
