I am a contemporary artist whose practice explores emergence in systems: the ways systems perpetuate, mutate and develop beyond their original intent, generating behaviours, structures and consequences that were neither individually designed nor necessarily anticipated.

Drawing on systems thinking and influenced by writers including Kafka and Gogol and filmmakers such as Jacques Tati, I examine the behaviour of systems and their impact on the individual. Consumerism is a recurring theme, explored as an emergent phenomenon shaping identity, value, desire and behaviour.

I work across media including installation, painting, sculpture, moving image, photography and sound. Based in Portsmouth, I am currently completing an MA in Fine Art at Falmouth University and work under the name mo.sys.
