Join us on Friday 17th May to hear Mina Amani, Adrian Mundy and Joshua Raffell talk about their recent work.
We open at 7pm to socialise and have a drink for a 7.30pm start. It will finish by 9.30pm. Each artist will use the Pecha Kucha format of 20 images for 20 seconds each, giving us scope to take in their practice/research and leave time at the end for questions and points of discussion.
Admission is free.

Off-site ASP member Mina Amani has been practicing “Kereshmeh Calligraphy”, a type of Iranian calligraphy for about 9 years. The letter of this calligraphy is derived from Persian Alphabet, which underwent a transformation in form and posture around 30 years ago by one Iranian artist. She shares her feelings and emotions throughout this art journey and held her first solo show recently in ASP.

ASP studio holder Adrian Mundy is an environmental artist with a love of geometry, but his work has its origins in painting. He uses his practice as art therapy to help him live with and overcome conditions he’s had for over 30 years. Trying to bring perfection and order to his life when his body doesn’t. More recently, his Little Forest Land Art project has enabled him to expand his practice to work directly in nature. The project also supports other artists to show their work in a natural outdoor setting at the annual ‘Art in the Garden’ event, this year 24th May – 8th June.

Off-site ASP member Joshua Raffell is from a working class and canal gypsy background. His work refuses to fit into perceived norms. An outsider on the inside. A dyslexic and gay artist, Joshua takes inspiration from the intersection of identity, mental health and conformity. His work is radical and polemical, pushing the boundaries of self and experimentation that challenges the audience to question power and repression, especially class and sexuality.
